Renew high-rise residentials "Platz der Vereinten Nationen"

Planning of a complete building services refurbishment in a listed inner-city high-rise residential complex
The high-rise residential buildings P2/11 at Platz der Vereinten Nationen 25-31 in Berlin - called "The Snake", were part of the overall planning for the redevelopment of the then "Leninplatz" in the eastern part of the city. The project was considered one of the most important urban development projects in the GDR and the open and curved architecture was trendsetting at the time. The ensemble of several eleven-storey high-rise apartment buildings built in standardised construction is now a listed building. CANZLER developed a renovation concept based on an inventory and taking fire protection technology into account. The systems in cost groups 300 and 440 were newly planned, tendered and construction supervised. All work was carried out while the group of buildings was occupied.
