Founded in 1960 as a "Büro Beratender Ingenieure für Technische Ausrüstung", the origins of Canzler as a company date back more than 150 years. Nowadays we see ourselves as an experienced overall structural engineering service provider who oversees projects with an average total annual volume of € 250 m. From general and building planning and the planning of technical plant and equipment as well as complex project management assignments, Canzler nowadays provides a wide range of in-house consulting, planning and management services. We act at all times as equals with our clients and put together our teams to suit the size of each project. This way we deliver customized solutions to our clients – swiftly and reliably.

In 2008, Canzler entered into a strategic partnership with the French SOCOTEC Group. Since then we have been part of a national and international network of specialists who provide structural and civil engineering planning and testing services, and much more besides. SOCOTEC has an outstanding international reputation for the compilation of independent expert opinions on quality, safety, health, and environmental protection. A group with international operations, alongside its main field of building surveillance SOCOTEC offers cross-sector inspection and surveying services, support and consulting, certification, and training. With consolidated annual sales of € 700 m, 200,000 clients and 7,800 employees worldwide, the SOCOTEC Group is one of the world's biggest players in the international TIC sector. Canzler uses this network to provide our clients with individual one-stop shop complete service packages.
Since 2017, Pielok und Marquardt, a firm of architects from Offenbach that specializes in the construction of new office buildings and housing, as well as in urban district and housing developments, has merged with Canzler.
Pielok Marquardt is well known in the Rhine-Main region as a competent and reliable general planner and architect for sophisiticated new office buildings, and revitalization and core refurbishment projects. The company, which has been in business for 25 years, also develops concepts for high-end interior design, canteens and communication buildings, and plans facade refurbishments. Pielok Marquardt's regular client base includes well-known regional project developers such as OFB as well as companies that own their own buildings, such as Merck, Eumetsat, Lufthansa and Nestlé.
In 2019, the companies were completely merged into Canzler GmbH. The brand Pielok Marquardt is continued under Canzler.
The fusion of competences and capacities in the fields of architecture, general planning, technical equipment and FM-Consulting, enables us to offer our clients an extended range of services for real estate "from a single source".
