Congress Center Saar

In-depth feasibility study for the extension of a listed event center with requirements planning, functional and spatial program, concept planning and costing for technical equipment
The listed Congress Centrum Saar in Saarbrücken was to be extended to include a modern and multifunctional building for congresses, trade fairs, exhibitions and new event formats in order to expand the cultural offerings of the state capital, revitalize the city center and structurally enhance the adjacent Saar Promenade. In order to clarify the functional, urban development and economic aspects of the measure, the operating company invited tenders for an in-depth feasibility study, which was funded as a sub-project of an overall urban development measure from state and federal funds. The feasibility study prepared by CANZLER for the subarea of technical equipment was based on various preliminary considerations, in which approaches for the expansion of the existing facilities had already been examined in subareas. The detailed functional and spatial program, concept planning and total costs were subsequently determined in the in-depth requirements planning.
