Frankfurt am Main
European Central Bank (ECB)
Planning and building surveillance services for the building site electricity supply, building automation, and HVAC, sanitation, and fire extinguishing systems
The new European Central Bank (ECB) building was constructed on the site of the Großmarkthalle, the former wholesale fruit and vegetable market in the east of Frankfurt/Main. The building complex comprises three sections: the 185-metre high dual office tower with an atrium extending over its entire height, the former heritage “Großmarkthalle” boasting new interior fittings befitting its new use, and a new entrance structure which unites the new and existing edifices in a building complex.
In terms of quality and technology the new ECB headquarters had to meet the sustainability requirements of the owner and user. While the project was already under way CANZLER was tasked with planning and building surveillance services for the building automation and building services (HVAC, sanitation and fire extinguishing systems) as well as the electricity supply for the building site. The Technical Equipment project was worth approx. 120 million euros.
