Residential complex for assisted living

Overall planning of all technical equipment trades for the new construction of a barrier-free care and residential complex
The residential complex with a total of 48 apartments in Essen‘s quiet Schonnebeck district consists of two round houses for senior citizens and people with physical disabilities. It was completed in 2002 and in 2008 received the "Signet barrierefrei" (barrier-free signet) from the "Arbeitsgemeinschaft Selbsthilfe Behinderter in Essen e.V." (working group of self-help disabled people in Essen). All areas of the residential complex as well as the spacious park in front of the houses are accessible without barriers. CANZLER was commissioned for the overall technical planning of the work phases 1-8 according to HOAI for all mechanical and electrotechnical trades. For heating and hot water supply a gas heating system with central roof systems was installed. The internal bathrooms and kitchenettes of the apartments were equipped with an exhaust air system with air flow through defined window installations. In order to meet an increased need for security, all apartments were equipped with camera surveillance as well as an intercom system at the front door and emergency call facilities were pre-installed.
