Representation of federal state North Rhine-Westphalia

The Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia is in Berlin’s “diplomatic quarter”. Hundreds of political, cultural, and educational events are held in the building every year to ensure the federal state is represented in the capital in an appropriate manner. Use of the newbuild was severely impaired due to serious faults with the fire prevention and technical equipment. CANZLER was tasked with rectifying in detail the faults from the planning and construction stage and coming up with technical solutions together with the experts responsible for the specific areas. The brief also included issuing calls for tender awarding the contract, as did the monitoring and coordination of the repair work while the building was in use. Alongside the repair work CANZLER also planned additional fittings the owner and the users had requested, and monitored their implementation.
