PalaisQuartier Office Tower-Frankfurt am Main
General planning for the technical building equipment (TBE) of an energy-efficient office tower
The site which is located on the Zeil has been exclusively used by Deutsche Post for over 50 years and was replaced by five buildings: an office tower, a hotel, the Thurn and Taxis Palace, a shopping centre, as well as an underground parking for 1400 vehicles.
CANZLER was responsible as general planner for the technical building equipment of the new office tower. Numerous energy-efficient and economical technologies were being used:
- Geothermal energy via pile foundations
- Use of cooling equipment as a heat pump
- Use of rain water for toilets and urinals
- Night cooling using mechanically operated windows
- Flexible, modular room systems
- Individual room regulators and precision monitoring
