New 2-storey secondary school Bethel

Planning and project supervision for the realization of the design (1st prize) from the preceding Europe-wide competition
The design was the result of a Europe-wide architectural competition organized by the Bethel Foundation. It was adapted to the needs of the school in a participatory process with representatives of the school and Bethel property management. The architectural quality of the new learning spaces is based on a clear layout and optimal orientation. The new building comprises a two-storey structure with a flat roof, large roof terrace and basement for the technical rooms, among other things. The school has space for 330 pupils. The classrooms are located on the ground floor and are therefore directly connected to the newly created "green classrooms", as are the administration rooms, the teachers' area, the teaching kitchen and the event forum. The specialist rooms and the library are located on the first floor. The specialist rooms for biology and physics, which are used by the neighboring grammar school, are located at the rear of the building. The collection rooms and sanitary facilities are also located here. They are directly accessible from the outside due to the slope of the site towards the school center. A spacious school campus was created between the new school and the grammar school.
