Municipal kindergarten - new building and extension

Planning and site supervision of a new building and extension to a kindergarten in solid construction in two construction phases
The kindergarten in Otze was built in the northern area on the site of the local primary school. Initially, a new building was erected. As this building reached its capacity limit after a short period of existence, an extension was realized. Both construction phases were realized in solid construction. The group rooms face south and the garden, while the offices and ancillary rooms face north. The spacious corridor in between serves as a space for movement and additional play areas. This zoning and division of functions on the inside can be seen on the outside from the opposing pent roofs. The roof shape of the extension blends in visually with the existing building and is connected to the main building by a glazed corridor. The extension houses three further group rooms - one of which is also used as a dining room - and the associated sanitary facilities. The outside areas serve as an extension of the respective group rooms, whose large window fronts create a visual and spatial connection to the outside. The appearance of the kindergarten is characterized by wooden and brick façades, as well as playful wooden windows in different colors and formats. As many natural materials as possible were used to create a healthy and cozy environment.
