District administration Main-Kinzig-Kreis

Investor competition for the new construction of an administration building
Within the framework of an investor competition, a demanding structural solution was sought for the new town hall building for the approx. 650 employees of the Main-Kinzig district administration in Gelnhausen. The property is located in the immediate vicinity of the medieval imperial palace (Barbarossaburg). The building masses were distributed over several true-to-scale structures, which integrate themselves architecturally self-confidently but sensitively into Gelnhausen‘s historic townscape. Taking up the topography, the heights of the new buildings are oriented to the existing district administration office and develop into the Kinzig-Aue.
