Fraport AG - Luggage Transfer

Reconstruction and expansion of a luggage sorting and distribution system during ongoing operations to implement global security guidelines; ensuring uninterrupted airport operations
Since January 2003, an EU regulation regulates the 100% security check of baggage that is checked in at airports within the European Union or that has to be reloaded in case of baggage transit from a country outside the EU. This control process was to be completely integrated into the baggage conveyor system at Frankfurt Airport and run automatically. As general planner CANZLER was responsible for all trades of the technical equipment during the reconstruction of the baggage conveyor system to the new transfer baggage centre B-West in building 207. During the planning and implementation of the project, above all the uninterrupted operation of the airport had to be guaranteed and the high requirements regarding the coordination to interfaces of a multitude of participants and to other projects had to be considered.
