Fire Station 4

Complex and in parts redundant planning of the technical equipment for the new construction of fire station 4 in Munich-Schwabing as well as a building for the volunteer fire department and the disaster control department
Fire Station 4 in Munich Schwabing is one of the oldest fire stations in Munich and also one of the largest with an average of 6,000 calls. For the urgently needed new construction, a civil defense bunker was demolished and in its place a new fire station was built, which houses the main functions of the station such as the vehicle hall, workshops, social rooms and the administration with the Integrated Emergency Call Control Center Munich. The volunteer fire department and the disaster control department are housed in the building at the rear. Both buildings are connected by an underground parking garage. CANZLER was responsible for planning the technical equipment of the highly complex building with multifunctional use. All technical systems required for operation of the emergency control center were planned and designed with redundancy. Due to the different use of the building on each floor, a complete 3D planning of all floors was carried out in coordination with all external planners. Due to the planning for disaster control, the planning order also included the installation of an emergency drinking water well in the second aquifer at a depth of approx. 220 m. The planning of the user-specific installations such as compressed air supply, exhaust gas extraction, vacuum cleaner system, filling station and washing plant technology were also part of the planning order.
