Tasks and SolutionsLasting reliability of secure system operation of the technical equipment by complete refurbishment of the building automation Kind of Object and UseChip-factory for processors, with cleanrooms for the production, microelectronic-laboratories and offices AMD Saxony LLC & CO. KG produces with 3,000 employees at the location Dresden in two semiconductor plants processors for the IT industry. In the course of technological progress the production was completely changed over to 300 mm wafer. In the entire factory a consistently building automation system is inserted in all buildings. The spares inventory for this product was, however, not ensured no more. Therefor AMD decided to exchange the existing automation system with approx. 80 switch cabinets to ensure lasting reliability of system operation. For strategically selected plants a pilot project was accomplished for modification, with the intention to test different solution variants in the expiration, to recognize entrapments, to optimize time laps, and for result of being able to minimize the necessary turn-off times. Canzler took over the project controlling for the pilot project and coordinated the performances of the hard- and software suppliers. For further alteration measures Canzler provided planning and tender documents and supervised the execution.
