The buildings and installations that date back to the 60s had to be adapted to new uses and had to be fitted with modern technical equipment. Especially, the digital transmission technology and the data centre of the Deutsche Telekom AG with their extreme machine temperatures and their high security standards required extreme demands on the technical equipment.

The existing buildings with technology, administration and canteen departments and the yard and technology basement have been supplemented by a new data centre and a new radio and TV tower. In several contruction phases the entire technology rearrangement was carried out on schedule without business interruption.

Canzler oversees rearrangement, reconstruction and extension of the main switching centre of the telecommunications office Essen.
